But they are working on the container &#8211; not the system that is supposed to do the restoring.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your autonomic nervous system continuously balances sympathetic and parasympathetic activity. Although both systems are active to varying degrees, one often predominates depending on circumstances.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first is <\/span><b>fight-or-flight &#8211; the sympathetic state<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The body mobilises. Heart rate rises. Cortisol activates. Digestion slows. Tissue repair is temporarily deprioritised.
